BUI, a global technology consultancy specializing in cloud, security, and networking solutions, has launched a state-of-the-art Cyber Security Operations Centre (Cyber SOC) in Nairobi, Kenya. This marks BUI’s fourth Cyber SOC in Africa, following existing centers in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Welkom, South Africa.
The Nairobi Cyber SOC will provide real-time threat monitoring, detection, and response to bolster cybersecurity resilience in East Africa. According to Hasmukh Chudasama, BUI’s General Manager for East Africa, the facility is not just a security hub but an investment in local talent, skills development, and job creation.
BUI Global CEO Ryan Roseveare emphasized that the new SOC is part of the company’s expansion strategy to provide tailored security solutions across the region. The facility will leverage Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Copilot, and other advanced tools to deliver 24/7 cybersecurity protection.
With increasing cyber threats and IT teams facing skills shortages and rising costs, Microsoft Kenya’s Country Manager, Phyllis Migwi, stressed the importance of cybersecurity awareness and solutions like BUI’s Cyber SOC. Rachael Ongalo, Head of IT at KEMRI-Wellcome Trust, also praised BUI’s cybersecurity services, noting their effectiveness in threat detection and risk reduction.
The BUI Nairobi Cyber SOC is now fully operational, reinforcing BUI’s commitment to strengthening Africa’s cybersecurity landscape.
