
Egyptian AI startup Widebot has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round to further develop “AQL Mind,” a generative AI model tailored for the Arabic language. Originally founded in Cairo, the company has now moved its operations to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, aiming to provide accurate, secure, and personalized AI experiences for businesses and government entities.
The funding round was led by Keheilan Asset Management II, with support from Wafra, Enza Capital, DisrupTech Ventures, LoftyInc Capital, Den VC, and SparkLabs Ventures. CEO Mohammed Nabil emphasized that AQL Mind’s ability to understand various Arabic dialects and accents makes it a game-changer for the region.
This investment reflects the growing interest in AI solutions for the Arabic-speaking market, reinforcing the region’s commitment to technological innovation and economic growth.
