
Shuttlers, the Nigerian mobility startup, has deployed 20 compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered vehicles, reducing rider costs by 29% and cutting carbon emissions by 23.5 metric tons in Q1 2025. With fuel prices soaring, CNG presents a cleaner and cheaper alternative, aligning with the startup’s push for sustainable and cost-effective transportation.
So far, the CNG-powered buses have completed 1,484 trips, serving nearly 19,300 passengers. Despite safety concerns around CNG adoption, Shuttlers assures riders of “100% safe trips,” equipping vehicles with fireproof canisters and automatic extinguishers. The company plans to expand its non-petrol fleet further in Q2.
