Singapore-based Trident Digital Tech Holdings is moving forward with a landmark public-private partnership to power the Democratic Republic of Congo’s national digital identity system. Validated by the DRC government, the initiative promises to revolutionize governance, drive financial inclusion, reduce identity fraud, and create over 30,000 jobs through secure Web3 technologies like blockchain, biometrics, and AI.
The system will streamline public services, enable digital access to healthcare and education, and support startups to boost the nation’s tech ecosystem. Minister Augustin Kibassa and Trident CEO Soon Huat Lim emphasized the project’s transformative role in shaping a more inclusive, transparent, and digitally advanced Congo.
