
The National Communications Authority (NCA) of Somalia has officially approved Starlink’s operational license, marking a major step toward expanding internet access nationwide. During the announcement event in Mogadishu, NCA Director General Mustafa Yasin Sheik described Starlink’s arrival as a milestone for bridging Somalia’s digital divide, especially for rural communities long underserved by traditional connectivity.
Minister of Communications and Technology, H.E. Mohamed Mo’allim, also emphasized the government’s commitment to affordable, accessible internet for all Somalis. With this move, Starlink is set to play a crucial role in transforming the country’s digital landscape.
