This strategic move marks a significant evolution in the company’s mission to become a comprehensive digital ecosystem for West Africa.

The new platform, named Gozem Money, will enable users to send and receive money, pay bills, top up airtime, and access a range of digital financial services directly from the Gozem app. The fintech arm is designed to serve both individual users and small businesses, particularly those in underserved and cash-reliant communities.

Gozem’s expansion into fintech comes at a time when mobile money adoption is surging across West Africa. Despite this growth, many users still face barriers to accessing secure, affordable, and user-friendly financial services. Gozem aims to bridge that gap by integrating financial tools into its already popular app, which is used daily by thousands for transportation and logistics.

Speaking on the launch, Gozem co-founder Gregory Costamagna said:
“We’ve built trust through our mobility and delivery services. Now, we’re leveraging that trust to offer essential financial tools that empower users and drive economic inclusion.”

The fintech platform will initially roll out in Togo and Benin, with plans to expand into other Francophone West African countries where Gozem already operates. The company is also partnering with banks, telecom operators, and regulators to ensure compliance, security, and interoperability with existing payment systems.

Industry observers view this move as a natural progression for Gozem, whose super app model mirrors that of Southeast Asian giants like Gojek and Grab. By embedding financial services into everyday transactions, Gozem is positioning itself as a key player in West Africa’s digital finance landscape.

As the region continues its shift toward a cashless economy, Gozem’s new fintech platform could play a crucial role in accelerating financial inclusion and offering more convenient services to its growing user base.

Gozem, the Togo-based super app known for its ride-hailing and delivery services, has announced its official entry into the mobile money space with the launch of a new fintech platform.
