The initiative is designed to ease access to affordable financing for women-owned businesses and help them scale operations in a challenging economic environment.

According to the programme details, eligible applicants can access loans ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦5 million under the general category, while sector-focused businesses may qualify for funding between ₦5 million and ₦10 million. The financing is structured at zero percent interest, with repayment periods spread across four to six months depending on the business model and cash flow cycle.

The programme is part of FCMB’s broader SheVentures initiative, which focuses on empowering women-led small and medium-sized enterprises through access to finance, mentorship, training, and networking opportunities. Since its launch, the platform has supported thousands of female entrepreneurs with business development resources and affordable funding solutions.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FCMB, Yemisi Edun, said the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to inclusive economic growth by helping women overcome structural barriers that limit access to capital. She noted that women-owned businesses play a major role in Nigeria’s economy but often struggle with high borrowing costs and limited financing opportunities.

Also speaking on the programme, Nnenna Jacob-Ogogo, Group Head of SheVentures and Impact Segments at FCMB, explained that the zero-interest facility is intended to help women-led businesses maintain operations, protect jobs, and invest in expansion despite economic pressures.

Beyond funding, applicants will also have access to mentorship programmes, capacity-building workshops, and networking opportunities designed to strengthen business sustainability and competitiveness. FCMB said the initiative aligns with efforts to close financing gaps affecting female entrepreneurs and encourage innovation among women-owned enterprises in Nigeria.

FCMB SheVentures has opened applications for its latest zero-interest loan programme aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs across Nigeria with funding of up to ₦10 million.
