The collaboration is designed to help businesses move beyond basic banking services by providing a comprehensive suite of financial management tools directly within the ALAT Business ecosystem.

The integration gives ALAT Business customers access to Duplo’s financial operating system, enabling them to automate payments, manage business expenses, approve transactions, generate and collect invoices, and streamline financial workflows from a single dashboard. By combining banking services with financial operations software, the partnership aims to simplify the day-to-day management of business finances while improving operational efficiency.

For many Nigerian businesses, financial management remains fragmented, with finance teams relying on spreadsheets, emails, multiple banking portals, and accounting software to complete routine tasks. This often results in delayed payments, reconciliation challenges, limited cash-flow visibility, and increased operational risks. The new integration seeks to eliminate these inefficiencies by bringing key financial processes together in one platform. According to the companies, mid-sized Nigerian businesses can spend between 30 and 50 hours each month on manual reconciliation, audit preparation, and dispute resolution.

Beyond payment automation, the platform supports local and international payments, vendor payment management, expense approvals, invoice generation and collections, real-time financial reporting, and workflow controls. Businesses will also receive Wema Bank virtual accounts for collections while processing payments through the bank’s infrastructure, creating a seamless and secure financial operations experience. The onboarding process includes registration, compliance verification, KYC synchronization, account activation, and virtual account provisioning.

Speaking on the partnership, Tunde Mabawonku, Executive Director for Finance and Digital Optimization at Wema Bank, said the collaboration aligns with the bank’s commitment to supporting the way businesses operate. He noted that companies increasingly require more than traditional payment services, making integrated financial management tools an essential part of modern digital banking.

Duplo Co-founder and CEO Yele Oyekola said the partnership will enable businesses to manage payments, expenses, and reconciliation with greater clarity and control. By embedding Duplo’s platform into ALAT Business, he said companies can gain better visibility into cash flow, reduce operational risks, and scale their operations more confidently.

To encourage adoption, existing ALAT Business customers will receive three months of complimentary access to Duplo’s platform. The offer allows businesses to experience financial automation capabilities before committing to a subscription.

The partnership reflects a broader trend in Nigeria’s financial services sector, where banks are increasingly embedding fintech solutions into their platforms to deliver more value to business customers. Rather than offering only transactional banking, institutions are evolving into providers of end-to-end financial management solutions. For SMEs, this means improved efficiency, stronger financial controls, better cash-flow management, and more time to focus on business growth. As digital banking continues to mature, collaborations such as the one between Duplo and Wema Bank are expected to accelerate the adoption of integrated financial technology across Nigeria’s business landscape.

Nigerian fintech company Duplo has partnered with Wema Bank to integrate its financial operations platform into ALAT Business, marking another step in the evolution of digital banking for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
