Anyone whose permit has expired, whose application is pending, or whose employment circumstances have changed should seek official immigration or qualified legal advice rather than relying on informal assurances from an employer or agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, South Africa\u2019s government has stressed that immigration enforcement must not become an excuse for violence or discrimination. Ramaphosa has warned against unlawful actions targeting foreign nationals and said that migrants should not be denied access to public facilities such as schools and healthcare services simply because of their nationality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The message for foreign workers is clear: legal status matters more than ever. Those working legally should keep their documents current and understand the conditions attached to their visas. Those without authorization face increasing enforcement pressure, while employers are also being held responsible for illegal hiring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
