The Africa-focused entrepreneur support platform has selected 10 Nigerian growth-stage businesses for its 2026 ScaleUp Programme, choosing them from more than 1,000 applications.

The 12-week programme is designed for companies that have already demonstrated traction and are now looking to strengthen their operations, strategy and leadership before entering their next stage of expansion. Rather than concentrating exclusively on early-stage startups, Cascador is targeting businesses that are already solving problems in the real economy and need the right support to grow sustainably.

The selected companies span a notably broad range of industries. They include Venco, a property technology company helping multi-tenanted communities manage payments and operations; SunFi, which finances and facilitates clean-energy adoption; and ColdHubs, which provides solar-powered cold storage to farmers, traders and food businesses.

The cohort also includes EHA Clinics, which combines healthcare delivery with digital and home-care services; Beauty Hut Africa, a technology-enabled beauty retail and distribution business; BEYOND Fitness; Ziba Beach Resort; Tulay Africa , which connects global industrial buyers with African critical-mineral producers; Maanj Agric, which links smallholder farmers to financing; and Finger Chops, a Nigerian bakery and food-distribution company.

The diversity of the cohort is significant. Nigeria’s venture ecosystem has traditionally attracted substantial attention toward fintech, but these businesses show how technology and entrepreneurship are increasingly being applied to energy, agriculture, healthcare, property, tourism, manufacturing and consumer markets.

For Cascador, the objective extends beyond classroom training. Its ScaleUp programme is built around leadership development, strategic clarity, financial preparation and access to networks. The organisation has said the programme is intended to prepare founders to access between $2 million and $5 million annually through its Catalytic Fund.

That capital-readiness focus is particularly important as African startups face a tougher fundraising environment. Investors are increasingly demanding evidence of revenue growth, strong financial controls, sustainable unit economics and a credible path to profitability. Growth-stage companies can therefore find themselves in a difficult middle ground: too established for traditional seed programmes but not yet large enough to attract substantial institutional funding.

Cascador is attempting to address that gap by pairing business support with potential access to capital. Its model has already produced measurable results. In June 2026, seven entrepreneurs from its ecosystem secured more than $5 million in growth capital at its annual Pitch Day, while more than 300 investors, lenders, mentors and ecosystem builders participated in the event.

The new cohort therefore enters the programme with more than mentorship at stake. For these 10 companies, the bigger opportunity is to build stronger organisations capable of attracting capital, expanding into new markets and creating more jobs.

As Nigeria’s startup ecosystem matures, programmes like Cascador’s suggest that the next challenge is no longer simply helping entrepreneurs build businesses. It is helping proven businesses become scalable companies.

Nigeria’s startup ecosystem is shifting from a focus on launching new ideas to helping proven businesses scale, and Cascador’s latest cohort reflects that change.
