Flutterwave is using the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)<\/a> in New York to bring together global business, government and financial leaders around the infrastructure needed to support Africa\u2019s next decade of economic growth. The Nigerian-founded payments company is hosting an invitation-only executive forum, \u201cAfrica Forward: Investing in the Next Decade of Growth,\u201d on September 23, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum brings together senior decision-makers from African governments, multinational companies, development finance institutions and global financial organisations. Participants include representatives from JPMorgan, Citi, Visa, Google, Microsoft, Standard Bank Group, Africa Finance Corporation and the International Finance Corporation. The discussions are focused on cross-border trade, global money movement and unlocking institutional capital for African markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Flutterwave, the engagement comes as the company marks its tenth anniversary and expands its role beyond payment processing toward a broader financial infrastructure platform. The company says its next phase is focused on building the rails that allow African businesses to trade and operate more easily across borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That infrastructure challenge remains significant. African businesses often operate across markets with different currencies, payment systems, banking arrangements and regulatory requirements. Flutterwave is positioning its multi-rail platform as a way to connect these fragmented systems through fiat payments, bank transfers, cards, mobile money, stablecoins and blockchain networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company\u2019s expansion into stablecoin infrastructure is also becoming part of this strategy. Flutterwave announced in July that it had received a strategic investment from Circle Ventures and introduced USDC settlement across its platform, with the aim of giving businesses faster access to digital-dollar liquidity and more efficient cross-border settlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flutterwave\u2019s scale provides context for its push. The company says it has processed more than one billion transactions and moved more than $40 billion in total payment value, while supporting more than two million businesses across its network. It also supports payments in more than 50 global currencies across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CEO and founder Olugbenga \u201cGB\u201d Agboola is leading Flutterwave\u2019s delegation at the UNGA forum. The company\u2019s participation reflects a broader effort to put African digital infrastructure at the centre of conversations about trade, investment and economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The timing is also significant for the wider continent. UNGA 81 is taking place amid discussions about digital transformation, investment, technology and how developing economies can capture more value from their resources, businesses and talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By convening investors, policymakers and multinational companies, Flutterwave is seeking to connect discussions about Africa\u2019s growth ambitions with the financial infrastructure required to execute them. The central question is increasingly not whether African economies can grow, but whether their payment, banking and digital systems can scale alongside that growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
