Paratus and PowerTel Partner to Boost Zimbabwe’s Digital Connectivity with Fibre Expansion.

Paratus Group and PowerTel Communications have signed a strategic partnership to deploy a high-capacity fibre network across Zimbabwe. This collaboration aims to significantly boost the country’s digital infrastructure by delivering reliable, fast, and scalable internet connectivity. PowerTel, a subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, brings its national infrastructure and local expertise, while Paratus contributes its regional network capabilities and technical know-how. The project will enhance connectivity not only within Zimbabwe but also link it to neighbouring countries, supporting regional data traffic and economic integration. This fibre expansion is expected to support businesses, government services, and communities with improved digital access. Both companies see this initiative as a key step in strengthening Zimbabwe’s position in the regional digital economy, reducing reliance on limited existing networks, and enabling more robust broadband services. The move aligns with broader efforts to improve ICT infrastructure and foster digital transformation across Southern Africa.
