Glovo, the global on-demand delivery platform, has teamed up with GITEX Nigeria to introduce an international startup founder exchange program aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. This collaboration is part of Glovo’s broader initiative to support emerging markets and empower local startup ecosystems.
The program will offer selected Nigerian startup founders a unique opportunity to travel to Barcelona, Spain, where they will immerse themselves in one of Europe’s leading tech hubs. While in Barcelona, participants will engage with Glovo’s innovation team, network with local startups and investors, and gain exposure to global business practices, strategies, and technologies. The initiative is designed to provide founders with insights that can be applied back home to strengthen and scale their businesses.
Glovo’s decision to partner with GITEX Nigeria highlights its commitment to investing in African innovation and promoting knowledge exchange between continents. GITEX, known for hosting major global tech exhibitions and fostering dialogue among tech leaders, provides a strategic platform for identifying high-potential startups in Nigeria. The exchange program is expected to serve as a bridge between African and European startup ecosystems, opening doors for collaboration, mentorship, and investment.
According to Glovo, this initiative aligns with its larger vision of promoting digital inclusion and supporting the growth of local talent across its markets. The company sees the exchange not only as a growth opportunity for Nigerian startups but also as a chance to bring diverse perspectives into its own innovation pipeline.
Applications for the program will be open to early-stage Nigerian startups with scalable solutions and a strong impact potential. Participants will be selected through a competitive process facilitated by GITEX Nigeria in collaboration with Glovo’s team.
