Global early-stage venture capital firm Antler has unveiled its latest Lagos cohort, featuring several promising African startups — including participants from TechCrunch Battlefield Africa. This development highlights the growing depth of innovation and entrepreneurial talent emerging from Nigeria and the wider African tech ecosystem.
Antler, which operates in over 25 cities worldwide, launched its Lagos program to support founders from ideation to scale, providing seed funding, mentorship, and global investor access. The inclusion of TechCrunch Battlefield alumni in this new cohort demonstrates Antler’s focus on nurturing high-potential startups with proven traction and groundbreaking ideas.
The selected startups span diverse sectors such as fintech, healthtech, edtech, logistics, and AI-driven solutions, addressing both local and global market challenges. Antler’s rigorous selection process ensures that only the most promising ventures are admitted into the program, which runs for several months and culminates in a Demo Day where founders pitch to investors for follow-on funding.
Speaking about the new cohort, Antler Nigeria Partner, Olamide Afolabi, emphasized that the initiative reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to empowering African founders. “We’re excited to back exceptional entrepreneurs who are building solutions for Africa’s next billion consumers. By combining local insights with Antler’s global network, these startups are positioned to create scalable and sustainable businesses,” Afolabi said.
The inclusion of TechCrunch Battlefield startups — which have already gained visibility on international stages — adds a layer of credibility and momentum to Antler’s Lagos ecosystem. It also signals a growing synergy between global accelerator platforms and local venture networks, strengthening Africa’s startup pipeline.
As Antler’s Lagos program continues to expand, it reinforces the city’s status as a tech innovation hub in Africa, providing a launchpad for startups poised to redefine industries across the continent and beyond.
