Nigerian fintech company Duplo has announced a strategic partnership with Loita Business, a pan-African financial services group, to digitise B2B payments and trade across Southern Africa. The collaboration aims to streamline financial transactions between businesses, reduce payment bottlenecks, and accelerate digital transformation within the region’s commercial ecosystem.
Through this partnership, Duplo will integrate its automated B2B payments infrastructure with Loita’s extensive network of financial and trade partners, offering businesses a seamless way to send, receive, and reconcile payments in real time. The initiative is designed to tackle persistent challenges such as delayed settlements, manual invoicing, and limited payment visibility, which continue to hinder trade efficiency in Southern Africa.
Duplo, known for building payment solutions that simplify how African businesses transact, brings its expertise in invoice automation, digital reconciliation, and secure payments to the partnership. Loita Business, on the other hand, provides deep experience in cross-border trade finance, investment, and financial technology integration across over a dozen African markets. Together, they plan to enhance operational transparency and improve access to financial services for businesses of all sizes — from SMEs to large corporations.
Commenting on the collaboration, Duplo CEO Yele Oyekola stated, “Our mission has always been to make B2B payments across Africa as simple and efficient as possible. Partnering with Loita allows us to scale this mission further, reaching more markets in Southern Africa and empowering businesses to grow without being limited by payment inefficiencies.”
Loita Business executives echoed this sentiment, noting that the partnership would play a vital role in digitising trade finance and reducing dependency on cash-based transactions, particularly in key markets like South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana.
As the adoption of digital payment infrastructure continues to rise across Africa, the Duplo–Loita partnership represents a significant step toward building a connected, technology-driven trade environment, fostering greater financial inclusion, and boosting economic growth across Southern Africa’s rapidly evolving business landscape.
