Pan-African technology company Cassava Technologies has announced a landmark investment from Stanlib, one of Africa’s largest asset managers, and Nvidia, the global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and computing technology. The deal marks a significant milestone for Cassava as it accelerates its mission to build Africa’s digital infrastructure and enable access to next-generation technologies across the continent.
While the financial terms of the investment were not disclosed, the partnership underscores growing global confidence in Africa’s digital transformation. Cassava Technologies, which owns leading brands such as Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Africa Data Centres, Sasai Fintech, and Distributed Power Africa, plans to leverage the investment to strengthen its cloud, data, and connectivity infrastructure while deepening its integration of AI-driven solutions.
According to Cassava Technologies’ CEO, Hardy Pemhiwa, the collaboration represents a strategic step forward in unlocking Africa’s technological potential. “With the support of Stanlib and Nvidia, we are scaling our infrastructure to empower African businesses, developers, and governments to participate meaningfully in the global digital economy,” he said. “This partnership allows us to bring advanced computing and AI capabilities closer to users across Africa.”
For Nvidia, the investment aligns with its broader goal of expanding AI access in emerging markets. The company is expected to provide Cassava with cutting-edge GPU technology and cloud computing expertise, enabling the development of AI training hubs and innovation labs across key African cities.
Meanwhile, Stanlib’s participation reflects growing institutional investor confidence in Africa’s digital infrastructure sector. The asset manager noted that Cassava’s diversified portfolio and strong regional presence make it a prime driver of Africa’s digital inclusion agenda.
Analysts say the partnership could have far-reaching effects, enabling faster data processing, improved connectivity, and enhanced capacity for sectors like education, healthcare, and financial services.
As Africa’s demand for digital services continues to surge, Cassava Technologies’ collaboration with Stanlib and Nvidia positions it as a key catalyst for the continent’s digital future, fostering innovation, investment, and economic empowerment across the region.
