The Nigeria Police Force has announced plans to strengthen security arrangements around UTME 2026 examination centres across the country in preparation for the exams scheduled to begin tomorrow. The move is aimed at ensuring a smooth, safe, and disruption-free examination process for candidates.
Security personnel will be deployed to strategic locations around Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, with increased patrols and perimeter monitoring before, during, and after the exams. Authorities say the presence is intended to maintain order and prevent any form of disturbance.
The deployment forms part of broader efforts to curb examination malpractice, manage crowd control, and respond swiftly to any potential security concerns that may arise during the nationwide exercise.
The Nigeria Police Force has also dismissed circulating rumours of planned attacks on exam centres, describing them as unverified and urging the public to remain calm as officers carry out preventive security duties.
Officials emphasized that the enhanced security arrangement is strictly preventive and designed to ensure the safety of candidates, exam supervisors, and examination infrastructure throughout the UTME period.
