Zazu partners Visa to roll out digital business accounts in Morocco

Zazu, a pan-African fintech focused on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has partnered with global payments giant Visa to launch a fully online business account solution for entrepreneurs in Morocco, marking a significant step in the country’s digital banking transformation.

The new offering allows SMEs to open and manage business accounts entirely online, removing the traditional paperwork and long approval processes associated with conventional banking. Entrepreneurs can complete onboarding in as little as 10 minutes, a major improvement compared to Morocco’s standard business account setup, which often takes several weeks.
At the core of the product is a unified digital platform that brings together payments, invoicing, expense tracking, and Visa Business card issuance in one system. This means business owners can send invoices, receive payments through digital links, and manage team expenses in real time without switching between multiple financial tools.

The partnership also enables Zazu to issue Visa-powered business cards to Moroccan SMEs, giving companies more control over spending and improving transparency in financial operations. By integrating Visa’s global payment infrastructure, the platform allows local businesses to operate more efficiently while staying connected to international markets. Zazu’s approach is built on collaboration with regional fintech infrastructure providers, ensuring compliance with local regulations while leveraging existing payment licensing systems. This model allows the company to scale quickly without needing to build traditional banking infrastructure from scratch.
According to early reports, more than 300 businesses had already joined the platform before its public rollout, signaling strong demand from Moroccan entrepreneurs seeking faster and more flexible banking solutions.
The launch comes at a time when Morocco is positioning itself as a leading fintech hub in North Africa, supported by growing investment and a rapidly evolving startup ecosystem. For SMEs, which form the backbone of the economy, access to streamlined financial tools is seen as a key driver of growth and competitiveness.

Overall, the Zazu–Visa partnership reflects a broader shift toward digital-first banking in Africa, where fintech companies are reimagining traditional financial services to better serve small businesses and modern entrepreneurs
