Glovo Expands African Operations with New Nairobi Headquarters

Glovo, the global on-demand delivery platform, has officially opened a new corporate headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, marking a major milestone in its expansion across Africa. The launch of the modern office underscores the company’s growing commitment to Kenya’s rapidly expanding digital economy and its ambition to strengthen operations in one of its fastest-growing markets.

The new Nairobi headquarters will serve as Glovo’s African digital hub, bringing together technology, operations, and talent under one roof. According to company reports, the office currently employs over 600 young Kenyans and is expected to support further job creation as operations scale up across the region. The facility also strengthens Glovo’s presence in Kenya, where it already operates in multiple cities and works with thousands of merchants and delivery riders.

The opening comes at a time when Glovo’s business in Kenya is experiencing strong growth, with orders reportedly increasing by about 40% year-on-year. The platform has also become an important channel for small and medium-sized businesses, which account for the majority of partners using the service. Since entering the Kenyan market in 2019, Glovo has facilitated billions of shillings in sales for local businesses, contributing significantly to the country’s digital commerce ecosystem.

During the launch event, Kenyan government officials praised the investment, highlighting its importance in boosting innovation, job creation, and digital inclusion. The company also announced plans to invest an additional KSh 10 billion in Kenya by 2030, signaling long-term confidence in the market’s growth potential.

With its new headquarters in Nairobi, Glovo aims to deepen its role in shaping Kenya’s digital future by expanding services, improving logistics, and supporting thousands of local businesses and riders in the growing on-demand economy.
