Egyptian e-commerce technology startup Fincart has secured $2.8 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round to accelerate the growth of its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered commerce platform across the Middle East, North Africa (MENA) and the broader African market.
The funding round was co-led by Launch Africa and Antler MENAP, with participation from Yango Ventures, Five35 Ventures, Bluestream Capital, Hi2 Global, Kalahari Venture Labs and several other regional investors. The investment marks another significant milestone for Egypt’s rapidly expanding startup ecosystem, which continues to attract venture capital for innovative technology solutions.
Founded in 2023 by Mostafa Masry and Nihal Ali, Fincart has evolved from a logistics aggregation platform into a comprehensive AI-powered operating system for e-commerce businesses. The platform enables merchants to manage shipping operations, customer engagement, cash reconciliation and working capital through a single digital interface, reducing the complexity of running online businesses.
One of Fincart’s key strengths is its integration with more than 40 shipping providers across Africa, creating one of the continent’s largest connected courier networks. This allows merchants to compare delivery services, optimise shipping performance and improve order fulfilment while using AI-driven insights to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
The newly raised capital will be used to strengthen the company’s AI capabilities, expand its engineering and commercial teams, build strategic partnerships and support its regional expansion plans. Fincart also intends to invest further in product development, enabling merchants to automate more aspects of their operations and make better business decisions through data-driven intelligence.
According to the company, its platform currently serves more than 450 merchants and has facilitated nearly EGP 1 billion in gross merchandise value. By combining logistics management, financial services and AI-powered customer engagement tools, Fincart aims to simplify the operational challenges that many small and medium-sized online businesses face in emerging markets.
Investors believe the startup is well positioned to benefit from the continued growth of digital commerce across Africa and the MENA region. As online retail expands and consumer expectations for faster deliveries and seamless shopping experiences increase, merchants are seeking integrated technology platforms that reduce costs, improve efficiency and support sustainable growth.
The investment also highlights growing confidence in AI-driven commerce solutions developed within Africa. Rather than simply adopting imported technologies, startups like Fincart are building products designed specifically for regional market conditions, including cash-on-delivery transactions, fragmented logistics networks and the financing needs of small businesses.
With fresh funding and an expanding customer base, Fincart is positioning itself as a leading commerce infrastructure provider for emerging markets. As the company scales its AI-powered platform and enters new markets, it hopes to help thousands more merchants streamline operations, improve customer experiences and unlock new opportunities for digital commerce across Africa and the Middle East.
