
Flutterwave announced a series E funding round backed by Ripple and Circle Ventures that values the company at a price of $3.2 billion to $3.5 billion. This strategic investment aims to scale cross- border transactions and integrate to stablecoin across Africa.
Although, the company did not reveal the amount of this round, but Flutterwave says it has now raised more than $500 million in funding to date.
The plan of Rippleās stake is to help both companies develop financial services on the African continent. The industry in which the flutterwave operates remain a challenging in Africa due to broken banking systems, strict foreign exchange policies, currency manipulation, and the routing of transactions through the European cities.
However, progress is in order, with companies like Flutterwave offering solutions in API unification, which means helping Africa operate as one market. Moreover, earlier this year the fintech company also bought the African banking startup Mono to adopt the API technology. In October 2025, it introduced stablecoin solutions for businesses in partnership with Polygon Labs, which will give opportunity to let transactions bypass traditional banking systems for the companies say, a more steady, faster, and cheaper way to send money.
Following this latest agreement, Ripple will have to provide Flutterwave with the infrastructure to expand its digital assets offerings. This strategic arrangement will works out for Ripple as well, as it is looking to expand its presence in Africa. Flutterwave operates in 35 countries across the world.
